Hej - I'm so glad you're here.

Danish Design Space grew from a lifelong love of Scandinavian design and a desire to share thoughtfully crafted pieces with homes across Canada and beyond.

I believe a home doesn't need to be perfect, it simply needs to feel like yours. That's why I carefully curate handcrafted pieces chosen not only for how they look, but for how they are used, appreciated, and lived with. Pieces that bring warmth, simplicity, and quiet joy to everyday life.

Based in Toronto and rooted in Denmark, I work closely with independent makers who share a commitment to craftsmanship, timeless design, and creating objects made to last. My hope is that the pieces you discover here become part of your everyday rituals and are enjoyed for many years to come.

OUR STORY

Scandinavian design has never been a trend for me. It has always been a way of living. It shapes the way I think about home and the objects I choose to surround myself with. I'm drawn to pieces that are not only beautiful, but thoughtfully made and designed to be used and enjoyed every day.

Growing up in Copenhagen, I developed an early appreciation for simplicity, craftsmanship, and timeless design. Later, while working for a Danish furniture and design company in Tokyo, I experienced firsthand how thoughtful design can transform not only a space, but the way people feel within it. After moving with my family to Toronto, the idea of creating a place devoted to Danish design slowly began to take shape.

I returned to Denmark to visit independent makers, step inside their studios and workshops, and carefully choose pieces that reflected the values I grew up with: quality, honesty, and craftsmanship. Many of these collections were difficult to find outside Scandinavia, and I wanted to make them more accessible to homes across Canada.

What began as a personal passion has grown into Danish Design Space. A carefully curated collection of handcrafted Scandinavian pieces created to bring warmth, beauty, and quiet joy to everyday living.

Over the years, one of the greatest joys has been connecting with customers who share an appreciation for thoughtful design. Every order, kind email, and handwritten note has helped shape this little business, and I am truly grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.

Thank you for being here. I hope the pieces you discover become part of your home and are enjoyed for many years to come.

Warmly,
Pia
